Wednesday Weekly Shopping: Saving more than spending

I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!

Compared with a lot of frugal bloggers, my savings percentage is pretty small.  Part of that is because my state does not have stores with double coupons, and because I live in area with a higher cost of living, and thus higher grocery prices, but the same coupon values.

And part of that is because of my choices in food products - I buy a lot of fresh vegetables and dairy products, which rarely have coupons (but occasionally they do!)

So I was really excited this week to have saved more with coupons and sales than I spent this week!  There were lots of good deals at Publix, and I stocked up quite a bit.  So overall I spent almost $76, but saved over $88.  Yay!

Here's what I got this week:

Overall, this week I spent $75.93 for items which retail for $164.67, or a 54% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased.  (But don't compare percentages!)

For the year (45 weeks), I've spent $3441.81 for items which retail for $6120.26, and saved $2678.45, or a 44% savings. That's an average of $76.48 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 14, 10, and 6), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat.

How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire!  Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well. If you don't have a blog, please leave a comment!
