Wednesday Weekly Shopping: Weeks like this

I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!

Weeks like this are why I'm frugal.

I spent almost $150 on groceries, mainly because I bought kosher meat this week.  It should be enough to last two months, but it's still a big hit for a single week.

Still... over the past 10 weeks, including this one, I've spent an average of $72.47 per week to feed a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters 13, almost 10, and 5), as well as for the paper goods and personal care items needed.  (Note: eating out, which we do once a week for breakfast and a couple of times a month for dinner, is not included in that figure.)

So even though I spent a lot in a single week, I saved enough previously to keep me well under my budget of $80 per week.  And that's what it's all about!

As for my shopping: I did hit the Walgreens 4 day sale with my Friends and Family discount coupon - here's what I got there.  I got cheap appetizer makings at Target.  And I also hit the usual places - Publix, Winn-Dixie, ALDI, and Western Beef, for a few items at each place.

Overall, I spent $149.93 for items worth $207.53, or a 27% savings.  (But don't compare percentages! Especially this week!)

See all my shopping here.

How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire!  Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well. If you don't have a blog, please leave a comment!
