Finally over 50%! (Wednesday Weekly Shopping)

Coupon Shopping
I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!

Over the last few months I've struggled to reach a 50% savings on my grocery shopping.

That's partly because I've been buying many more items at ALDI, which has the lowest regular prices (for the most part) in my area.  I don't consider that savings, since anyone can shop there without a plan and get those prices.  I only count buying items on sale and/or using coupons as savings.

It's also because my Publix stopped allowing Doris Italian Market coupons as competitor coupons.  I used to use the Recyclebank $5 off $50 Doris coupons at Publix.  When Publix stopped taking them, I didn't have any dollars-off coupon, and thus paid more.  But a few weeks ago, I ordered some Enjoy the City coupons and I am now happily using the Winn-Dixie $5 off $30 coupons at Publix and savings lots!

Here's what I got this week:

Overall, this week I spent $73.15 for items which retail for $156.51, or a 53% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased.

For the year (28 weeks), I spent $2,285.95 for items which retailed for $3,925.31 and saved $1,639.36, or a 42% savings. That's an average of $81.64 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 15, 12, and 8), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat, as well as paper and plastic goods, health and beauty items, and cleaning supplies.

In 2011, I spent $4,017.13 for items which retailed for $7,344.08, saving 45% and spending an average of $77.25 per week for the year.

In 2012, I spent $4,007.13 for items which retailed for $7,591.37, saving 47% and spending an average of $77.06 per week for the year.

How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire!  Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well.
