Walgreens: Cheap school supplies (part 1)

It's July, so it must be school supplies sales time!  Each week at the drug stores (and at office supply stores as well), there will be a few items deeply discounted.  To save the most, you should buy only the items you need that are the cheapest that week, and avoid buying the other items on your list.  Trust that eventually pretty much everything will go on deep discount sometime before the start of school.

Besides school supplies, I also picked up some cereal.  At $1.49 per box it wasn't the best price, but I only have a few boxes in my stockpile, so it was good to add two more.

Here's what I got:
2 Kellogg's Rice Krispies, 12 oz, # $1.99 = $3.98
- $1/2 Kellogg's Cereals printable
= $2.98 for two, or $1.49 each

3 Wexford #2 pencils 8-ct @ 39¢ = $1.17

3 Wexford index cards @ 39¢ = $1.17

3 Wexford pencil cases @ 39¢ = $1.17

Total product: $6.49
Pay with $3 in Register Rewards ($2, $1) from last week

Total product after RRs: $3.49
Tax: 22¢

Total out of pocket: $3.71
Total saved compared to Walgreens full prices: $18.70

I didn't see the Walgreen's ad this week, so thanks for this. I'll see if I can swing by for some cheap school supplies,
