ALDI: Where are the great discounts?

It seems like in weeks past, every time I went to ALDI I found great markdown deals in the discount aisle.  But lately, the deals just haven't been there.  And even when I find something marked down, it's usually some food I don't need, like potato chips or rice mixes.  So I've only been buying the usual things at ALDI - dairy, produce, and bread.

Here's what I got this week:

3 dozen eggs @ $1.29 = $3.87
1 whole wheat bread @ $1.29
2 cream cheese bricks @ $1.19
1 family pack tortillas @ $1.99
3 frozen apple juice @ 99¢ = $2.97
1 sharp cheddar block @ $1.99
1 cottage cheese @ $1.99
2 gallons milk @ $2.99 = $5.98
1 5-lb all purpose flour @ $1.79
1 bag bananas @ $1.16
1 head lettuce @ $1.29
1 3-lb yellow onions @ 89¢
1 3-lb apples @ $3.39
1 grape tomatoes @ 99¢
1 blueberries @ $1.29
1 multi-colored peppers @ $1.49

Total out of pocket: $34.55

We bought a lot of the same things at ALDI this week - just think what you'd have to pay, if you had bought all of the above at Publix.

I just finished a big plate full of fruit for breakfast, without ALDI that would not have been possible.

Surely understand you. Lately all the great deals seem to be so far away lol. Sedano's had milk a bit less, and it seems we have been saving a bit there as well.

We have the same issues in our stores lately no manager specials or discounts. We have been eating out of our pantry and freezer since late November the cupboards are getting quite bear and no discounts in site. Last week I only spent $35.00 on groceries and another $14.00 at the dollar store for meds and hygiene items. I need to do a large grocery shop by the money for our family business is not coming in these last few months and since there are no deep discounts we continue to eat potatoes. Maybe Obama would admit that is his biggest mistake leading the average American family into such depression that we eat beans , rice and potato diet only now! At least the apples will be on the trees again soon. I like the apples.
