ALDI: Big totals

During the school year, I rarely spent more than $20 or $25 at ALDI.  But since I've simplified my shopping (just picking up deals at Publix, CVS, and Walgreens, and then buying the rest at ALDI) (yes, that's my idea of simplification), I'm spending half my budget at ALDI.  It's strange to get used to taking that much money out of my wallet.  But school starts in a few weeks, so I'll be back to hitting several stores a week to get the best deals.

Here's what I got at ALDI this week:

1 dozen eggs @ $1.29
1 whole wheat bread @ $1.29
2 20-ct tortillas @ $1.99 = $3.98
2 heads lettuce @ $1.19 = $2.38
1 bunch bananas @ $1.29
3 apple juice concentrate @ 99¢ = $2.97
1 3-lb apples @ $3.39
2 gallons milk @ $2.99 = $5.98
2 bricks cream cheese @ $1.19 = $2.38
1 8-oz sharp cheddar block @ $1.79
1 16-oz shredded cheddar @ $2.99
1 canola oil @ $2.69
1 4-lb sugar @ $2.19
1 alfredo sauce @ $1.69

Total spent: $36.30

I know what you mean...one week we happened to be out of practically all baking supplies, plus we needed some meat and dairy. I actually spent $60 at Aldi and I couldn't quite believe it....I had never spent more than $20 or $25 there before!
