ALDI: Cheap fiber cereal

We finally ran out of $2.50 per gallon milk that we got at Western Beef last week, so it was time to go ALDI and pay $2.89 per gallon. Still the best price anywhere!

In the discount aisle, I found house brand fiber cereal for 50¢ per box - normally, it's $2.29 per box. 50¢ is an amazing price for cold cereal - I'm usually happy to get a box for $1.50. I haven't tried the cereal yet, but if my family likes it, I'll go back and get several more boxes!

I also found a great deal on onions, 3 lbs. for 69¢. But my savings was countered by the fact that I brought my kids with me, as they're on Spring Break. And they picked out a couple of things they wanted - grape juice and macaroni & cheese. With the savings I found, how could I say no?

Here's what I got:

3 gallons milk @ $2.89 = $8.67
1 instant oatmeal @ $1.39
1 premium macaroni & cheese @ 59¢
1 cottage cheese @ $2.29
1 grape juice concentrate @ $1.49
1 apple juice concentrate @ 92¢
2 cream cheese @ $1.19 = $2.38
1 3-lb Red Delicious apples @ $2.99
3 3-lb yellow onions @ 69¢ = $2.07
2 whole wheat bread @ $1.29 = $2.58
4 Fiber Now cereal @ 50¢ = $2.00

Total spent: $27.37
Total saved: $7.16

Postscript: The cereal was good, so I headed back for more today. But it was all gone. *sigh*

But there was a deal for fruit and grain cereal bars for $1.19 - these are normally $1.89. So I bought four boxes:

4 Millville fruit & grain bars @ $1.19 = $4.76

Total spent: $4.76
Total saved: $2.80
