Wednesday Weekly Shopping: Stamping out hunger and high prices

I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!

Saturday was the Stamp Out Hunger food drive, and I was happy to be able to donate many food items from this week's shopping (and from previous weeks) to my local food banks.  It was a good week at Publix, and I was able to stock up on many items, yay!

I was also happy to return to the drug stores after a week's absence.  But, those trips put me a bit over budget - about $11 over my normal $80 per week.  But I'm still way below $80 per week for the year, so that is good.

Here's what I got this week (click on the link below the picture for more details about the trip):

I also purchased two bottles of salad dressing at Target.

Overall, this week I spent $91.51 for items which retail for $185.30, or a 51% savings based on the retail value of the products at the stores where they were purchased.  (But don't compare percentages!)  My real savings (how much more I'd spend if I bought those items at the lowest possible regular price in my area) was approximately $40.21.

For the year (20 weeks), I've spent $1461.28 for items which retail for $2870.80, and saved $1409.52, or a 49% savings. That's an average of $73.06 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 13, 10, and 6), including lots of fresh produce, dairy items, and kosher meat.

See all my shopping here.

How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire!  Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well. If you don't have a blog, please leave a comment!

I am so jealous of your produce store and it's half off sales...if only I could find something like that around my house I'd be a happy girl!

I too love your finds at the produce store.

Thank you for linking up at the Aldi SavingsLinky at the Aldi Spot.
