Wednesday Weekly Shopping: An almost coupon-free week

I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!

This week had three big events in three days: a child's birthday party on Sunday afternoon and Passover seders on Monday and Tuesday nights. So most of my energy was dedicated to getting ready for those events, and I didn't have much time to coupon.

I totally skipped going to CVS and Walgreens, and my coupon purchases at Publix were only for things I needed immediately - no adding to my smallish stockpile.  I did most of my purchases at ALDI and the produce store, with a small visit to Walmart as well and a stockup at a kosher specialty store.

I did go over budget this week by about $20, but I am still well below my budget of $80 per week for the year.  After Passover is over, I think we will be doing a little eating from the pantry and keep the grocery bills down for a few weeks.

Here's what I got this week (click on the link below the picture for more details about the trip):

Overall, this week I spent $98.12 for items which retail for $114.58, or a 14% savings.  (But don't compare percentages! Please!)  Of course, if I compared the ALDI and produce store prices to supermarket full prices, it would show a lot more savings.

For the year (16 weeks), I've spent $1145.29 for items which retail for $2202.17, and saved $1056.88, or a 48% savings. That's an average of $71.58 spent each week for a family of five (husband, wife, and daughters ages 13, 10, and 6).

See all my shopping here.

How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire!  Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well. If you don't have a blog, please leave a comment!

You sure got a lot of shopping done this week, even though you were so busy. I imagine your head must have been spinning at times:) Happy Birthday to your little one.

I hope you will link up your savings at The

I'm always amazed when I see your total for all of the pictures, because it is like what i spend at two places! I wish I had a cheap produce store around here! We did go to the farmer's market on Saturday, but i didnt find anything to buy, we just walked around and sampled fruit. ;)

Three events and over budget by only $20 is awesome! Great job! I hope the birthday party was fabulous!
