ALDI: 99 cents for strawberries and cantaloupe!

This morning, I took a trip over to ALDI to get some more milk and a few other pantry items that we had run out of. While there, I took a gander at the produce. No more 69 cent onions - *sigh* - but was really happy to find containers of strawberries for 99¢, and cantaloupes for that price as well! Those are two of my kids' favorite fruits, so I was glad to find them at that price.

On a whim, I also bought the no-bake cheesecake mix, a graham cracker crust, and chocolate chips to make a chocolate chip cheesecake.  And I also couldn't resist trying ALDI's 70% cocoa dark chocolate bar.  I tried one... it was bitter, but delicious!

Here's what I got:

2 gallons milk @ $1.99 = $3.98
2 containers strawberries @ 99¢ = $1.98
1 cantaloupe @ 99¢
2 macaroni & cheese @ 29¢ = 58¢
2 cream cheese bricks @ $1.29 = $2.58
1 bag romaine hearts @ $2.39
1 box no-bake cheesecake @ $1.49
1 graham cracker crust @ $1.19
1 dark choclate bar @ $1.69
1 2-lb bag brown sugar @ $1.49
1 bag chocolate chips @ $1.79
1 strawberry preserves @ $1.49
1 Parmesan cheese @ $2.29
1 whole wheat bread @ $1.19
1 flour tortillas @ 99¢

Tax: 11¢
Total: $26.22

Don't you just love .99 strawberries?!? I almost bought 2 but I was afraid we wouldn't eat them fast enough...hopefully that price won't go anywhere for a while!

I actually bought three packages of the strawberries yesterday and today there is only 1 left....they still look great though. I have been positively surprised about the taste, as the ones Publix has had are very sour and not sweet at all.

Thank you for linking up at The Aldi Spot.
