Menu Plan 11/29/10: What's for breakfast?

I've been doing my menu plans for quite a while now, but I only list what we are having for dinner.  But, you might wonder, what does the Frugal Follies household have for breakfast and lunch?

Breakfast generally is each person for themselves.  Usually we will have either cold cereal (bought on sale with coupons), instant oatmeal (same), or toast.  Saturdays usually are leftover challah with cream cheese.  One day a week, I'll make scrambled eggs (with the whites left over from making challah, and a few more whole eggs thrown in) with cheese on top.  If we have any leftover French toast or pancakes, we might have that.  If I have the crockpot out already (from doing some freezer cooking, for instance), I might make some crockpot oatmeal.

I pack lunch for the kids for school days, although one day a week I will pay for a school lunch if they want.  Lunch is usually a sandwich (peanut butter and jelly, cream cheese and jelly, or sliced cheese usually), a piece of fruit, and homemade cookies (like my peanut butter cookies) that we make over the weekend as a family project.

My husband also brown-bags it except for on Fridays, when he goes out to a mall food court with friends from his old job, to keep in contact with them.  The other days, he usually takes leftovers (like chili or beef stew) and some cut-up vegetables.  He also brings fruit once a week to work to have as snacks.

And me?  I also eat leftovers for lunch, although usually I'm blogging during lunch so I'll just eat a little something and then get right back to work!

And here's what's for dinner this week:

Monday - turkey stir-fry over brown rice (yes, we still have leftovers)

Tuesday - lasagna roll-ups, salad

Wednesday - pepper and onion pizza on  whole wheat pizza dough, fruit

Thursday - veggie chili over whole-wheat pasta

Friday - Honey Mustard Herb Chicken, kasha varnishkes, salad, challah

Saturday -grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, cut-up veggies

Sunday - takeout!

I picked up bagels and strawberry cream cheese for breakfast this week. It is usually a breakfast on the go for me.
