Fried Cinnamon Bites (Frugal Food Thursday)

Welcome to Frugal Food Thursday!  If you have a great frugal recipe, please link up below!

Here's a Chanukah-inspired recipe I created last week when I received a free product coupon for Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls. (Thanks, Pillsbury!)  It's not the most creative or frugal recipe I've ever made, but it was a lot of fun for my youngest daughter and me to make together!

Here's the recipe:

FRIED CINNAMON BITES

1 can Pillsbury cinnamon rolls
canola oil for frying
confectioner's sugar
blue icing

Open the can of cinnamon rolls and remove the cinnamon rolls.  Using a rolling pin, roll the cinnamon rolls flat and cut each in half.

Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.  Fry the cinnamon rolls until they are golden brown on each side.  Remove rolls from the oil and cool on a wire rack with paper towels underneath to soak up the excess oil.

Place the fried rolls on a plate.  Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar and decorate with the icing.

Eat before they get cold!

I can see my teenagers making these for a snack for themselves if I get the rolls on sale. They would love making and eating them!

Thanks for hosting! Those look pretty tasty and I might have to give them a try!

These look delicious enough for the whole family but simple enough to make with the kids. Bet they would like flattening out the dough while the adults fry them!
