This week at Publix, I was so excited about the Smart Balance sale. I was planning on buying eight containers of the Smart Balance Butter and Canola Oil spread, which I thought was on a BOGO sale for $3.59.
With eight $1/1 Smart Balance Spreadable Butter or Blended Butter Sticks, exp. 7/17/13 (SS 06/02/13) coupons and eight $1/1 Smart Balance Spreadable Butter & Canola Oil, exp. 7/26/13 (Publix Celebrate Summer Booklet) coupons, I figured I would make 41¢ on each container!
But when I got to the store, I discovered that the Butter and Canola Oil spread was not included in the sale. Instead, it was marked as 2/$4.00. So I put those coupons away and didn't get the deal.
But wait... total FAIL here! Each container was $2.00, and I had $1 manufacturer and store coupons. Which means I could have gotten the product for free! Yes, it's not a moneymaker, but free is still free! D'oh!
And even worse, without these in my shopping trip, I didn't have a high enough pre-coupon total to use a $5 off $30 Winn-Dixie competitor coupon from Enjoy the City booklets. Double d'oh!
The good news is that I can still go back and use the coupons before they expire. So I'll be doing that later in the shopping week.
Here's what I did end up getting:
2 Kellogg's Special K multigrain @ BOGO $4.39
