Publix: My favorite savings strategy - gone!

One of my favorite coupons to use at Publix will no longer be accepted there!

Since Publix started allowing competitor coupons, one of the stores my Publix considers a competitor has been Doris Italian Market.  Recyclebank offered $2 off $25 and $5 off $50 coupons from Doris, and I would use those coupons to save money at Publix.

But no more.  My Publix cashier today told me that as of April 1st, my store was no longer accepting Doris Italian Market coupons.

Bummer.  I've definitely saved a lot that way over the past year or so.

However, my store is still accepting Winn-Dixie, Target, and Whole Foods coupons.  Check with your store to see if their competitor stores have changed recently.

Luckily, my Doris coupon was accepted this time.  I guess I'll have to start looking for good deals on the "Enjoy the City" coupon books, with their $5 off $30 Winn-Dixie coupons.

Here are some of the great deals at Publix that I didn't get, but that you might want to get:

2 Red Gold canned tomatoes @ BOGO $1.39
- $1/2 Red Gold products printable coupon (zip 77477)
= 39¢ for two, or 20¢ each

6 Yoplait yogurt @ 50¢ = $3.00
- $0.40/6 Yoplait Yogurt
= $2.60 for six, or 41¢ each

Blue Diamond Almond Breeze milk @ $2.50
- $0.75 off Blue Diamond Almond Breeze 1/2 Gallon
= $1.75

2 Kellogg’s® Eggo Waffles @ BOGO $3.55
- 2 $1.50/1 Kellogg’s® Eggo Waffles (1,000 points)
- $1/1 Eggo Cinnamon Toast Waffles (Ibotta Deposit) or $0.50/1 Eggo Nutri-Grain Waffles (Ibotta Deposit)
= 45¢ moneymaker or 5¢ for two

See the full list here.

And here's what I did get:

4 Cheerios (Apple Cinnamon and Banana Nut) @ BOGO $4.45 = $8.90
- 2 $1.00/2 any flavor Cheerios cereals
= $6.90 for four, or $1.72 each

2 Spot Shot stain removers @ BOGO $5.19
- 2 $1.00 off One Spot Shot 14 oz. or larger Aerosol
= $3.19 for two, or $1.60 each

4 Pillsbury Ready-to-Bake cookies @ $2.50 = $10.00
- 2 $1.00/2 Pillsbury Refrigerated Cookie Dough
- 2 $2/2 Pillsbury Ready To Bake! Cookies (Publix Printable)
= $4.00 for four, or $1.00 each

2 Cascadian Farm granola bars (in the organic food aisle) @ $2.50 = $5.00
- 2 $1/1 Cascadian Farm Product printable
- $1/2 Cascadian Farm Organic Cereal or Granola Bars (Whole Foods)
= $2.00 for two, or $1.00 each

2 Fresh Express salad @ BOGO $3.99
- 2 $0.55/1 Fresh Express Packaged Salad, exp. 6/10/13 (SS 03/10/13)
= $2.89 for two, or $1.45 each

I also purchased Goodnites, which is not counted here but brought my total over $50.

- $5 off $50 Doris Italian Market coupon (for the last time -sob!-)

Tax: 32¢
Total out of pocket: $15.30
Total saved compared to Publix full prices: $42.32
