Buying cereal at ALDI

This week, I did something I don't normally do: I bought cereal at ALDI.

I usually avoid it because I find the prices there to be too high.  I generally try to spend no more than $1.50 per medium-sized box of cereal.  For larger boxes, I might go as high as $2.00

I hit this price point by combining buy one, get one free sales on cereal at Publix, and then I use two manufacturer's coupons and two store coupons (if available).  That can usually get the price pretty low.

But lately, the cereal sales at Publix have been limited to cereals high in sugar, and the coupons just haven't been as great. Our cereal stockpile shrunk to just a couple of boxes.  So I sighed and spent a whole $1.69 on a Cheerios-type cereal at ALDI.

Aw, poor me.  C'mon, good cereal sales!

Here's what I got at ALDI this week:

2 dozen eggs @ $1.69 = $3.38
1 24-pack water bottles (not pictures) @ $2.29
2 gallons milk @ $3.29 = $6.58
1 3-lb apples @ $3.29
1 tray Roma tomatoes @ 99¢
1 bag baby carrots @ 59¢
1 bag mini sweet peppers @ $1.69
2.65 lb bananas @ 44¢/lb = $1.17
1 bottle moscato wine @ $4.99
1 canola oil @ $2.69
1 cream cheese @ $1.19
1 apple juice concentrate @ 99¢
2 wheat bread @ $1.29 = $2.58
1 box crispy o's @ $1.69
1 box whole wheat crackers @ $1.25

Tax: 30¢
Total spent: $35.66

I also recently tried their cheerios type cereal. My kids love it. They didn't notice any difference at all. It's an okay price for a cereal if you need it now. :) Happy couponing
