ALDI: State of the Onion

So happy to see sweet onions on sale at ALDI this week!  2-lb bags were only 99¢ each.  I put onions in pretty much everything I cook for dinner, so it was a no-brainer to pick up a lot!

I noticed that some bags of onions had 4 onions and some had 5.  Since I generally use one onion regardless of size, I only chose bags with 5 onions.  So I can get three more meals out of the onions before I have to buy them again!

Here's what I got at ALDI this week:

Trip #1: (not pictured)

2 dozen eggs @ $1.69 = $3.38
2 gallons milk @ $3.29 = $6.58
1 blueberries @ $1.29
1 cream cheese @ $1.29
1 strawberries @ 89¢
1 cottage cheese @ $2.29
2 whole wheat bread @ $1.29 = $2.58
1 dozen mini bagels @ $1.99
4 boxes of tampons (found in the discount aisle) @ $1.25 = $5.00

Total spent: $25.49

Trip #2: (pictured above)

3 bags sweet onions @ 99¢ = $2.97
1 romaine hearts @ $1.99
1 green peppers @ $1.29 (didn't see on-sale multicolored peppers)
2 grape tomatoes @ 75¢ = $1.50
1 apple juice concentrate @ 99¢
1 baby carrots @ 99¢
1 6-ct bagels @ $1.69
1 instant oatmeal @ $1.49

Total spent: $12.91

That is so funny you say that with the onions :) I said the same thing to my husband the other day. Sometimes there is not much in my fridge but there are always onions and celery so I can cook ;)
