Walgreens: Super pharmacy service!

Today I went to Walgreens not only to pick up the great deals, but also to take care of a pharmacy-related matter, and the customer service at the pharmacy was great!

I had picked up a prescription two weeks ago for which we had a manufacturer's prescription card, giving us a lower price than what our insurance would charge.  The pharmacist was having trouble logging into the manufacturer's computer system so that I could get the discount.  I ended up having to pay the insurance price.  Later on that day, the pharmacist called my house and said that he had gotten the system working, and that I should come back to get a refund for the price difference between the insurance price and the prescription card price.

Well, life got in the way, and I didn't end up getting back until today.  Unfortunately, the transaction was no longer in the Walgreens computers.

I was ready to hear that I had returned too late and nothing could be done, but the pharmacist worked his magic and after a few minutes was able to get my refund back to me.  Yay!

Here's what I got on the shopping part of the trip:

1 Bausch & Lomb ReNu saline solution @ $6.99 (receive $5 RR)
- $2/1 Renu Fresh or Renu Sensitive Multi-Purpose Solution printable
= $4.99 (1¢ moneymaker after RRs)

2 Nestle Morsels @ $1.99 (with in-ad coupon) = $3.98 (receive 750 Balance Rewards points)
$0.50/2 Nestle Toll House Morsels printable
= $3.48 for two, or $1.74 each

2 Philadelphia cream cheese @ $1.50 (with in-ad coupon) = $3.00 (receive 500 Balance Rewards points)
- 2 $0.50/1 Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cheese Spread, exp. 11/17/12 (SS 10/14/12)
= $2.00 for two, or $1.00 each

Total product: $10.47

Total out of pocket: $10.89
Total saved compared to Walgreens full prices:  $11.58
Total RRs received: $5
