Publix: Filling the cart with savings


This week at Publix, I bought more than I've bought in a long time.  The cart was pretty much filled up by the time I was done.  I didn't even keep track of how much product I had - I knew it would be over $50, so that I could use a $5 off $50 coupon.

I used a lot of printable coupons, such as the $1.00/2 Chex cereals printable, the $1.00 off any TWO Ziploc brand Bags printable, and the $1/1 I Can't Believe It's Not Butter printable.  But I also used lots of newspaper insert coupons, which I tend to use fewer and fewer of each week.

I haven't found the Winter Family Savings booklet yet, but the coupons are available online.  Yay!  I hope Publix does this more often, because I often have trouble finding needed coupon booklets at my local store.

Here's what I got:

4 General Mills Chex cereals @ BOGO $3.69 = $7.38
- 2 $1.00/2 Chex cereals
= $5.38 for four, or $1.35 each

2 Ziploc storage bags @ $2.50 = $5.00
$1.00 off any TWO Ziploc brand Bags
$1/2 Ziploc Brand Bags or Containers, exp. 12/31/12 (Publix Winter Family Savings)
= $3.00 for two, or $1.50 each

4 I Can't Believe It's Not Butter @ BOGO $3.39 = $6.78
- 4 $1/1 I Can't Believe It's Not Butter printable (zip 33301)

= $2.78 for four, or 70¢ each

2 fresh cranberries, 12 oz @ BOGO $2.99

= 99¢ for two, or 50¢ each

2 Kraft chunk cheese, 8 oz @ BOGO $3.99
- $1/2 Kraft chunk cheese (no longer available)
= $2.99 for two, or $1.50 each

2 Kraft Fresh Take Cheese & Breadcrumbs @ BOGO $2.99
- 2 $0.75/1 Kraft Fresh Take printable
= $1.49 for two, or 75¢ each

2 Sargento shredded Parmesan and Romano@ BOGO $3.99
- $0.50/2 Sargento Shredded Cheese, exp. 12/1/12 (SS 11/04/12 R)
= $3.49 for two, or $1.75 each

2 Breakstone sour cream @ BOGO $2.39
- $0.55/1 Breaksone sour cream (SS 11/11/12) (I only had one coupon)
= $1.84 for two, or 92¢ each
(with two coupons, this would have been $1.29 for two or 65¢ each)

2 Hellmann's mayonnaise @ $5.29
- 2 $1/1 Hellmann's Product, exp. 12/9/12 (RP 11/11/12)
- 2 $1.50/1 Hellmann's Mayonnaise Product Publix coupon (November Best Meals at Home Email or RP 11/04/12)
= 29¢ for two, or 15¢ each

2 Nabisco Triscuit crackers @ BOGO $3.59
- $0.75/2 Nabisco Cracker Product, exp. 12/31/12 (SS 11/11/12 R)
= $2.84 for two, or $1.42 each

2 Lipton tea bags @ BOGO $4.29

= $1.39 for two, or 70¢ each

Total out of pocket: $29.59
Total saved compared to Publix full prices: $82.18

Nice trip! Don't know if you've noticed or not but that last few Doris flyers have had the $5 off $50 coupon so I have 4 now ... I just need to go to the store and buy some stuff ... haven't been all week and really need to match up the coupons beforehand. Haven't been doing coupons much but it seems this is the time of yeaer when it's worth it :) Thanks for sharing!

good job on your shopping trip.. my publix is out of the sour cream so luckily u got the deal.. and love how much u paid for hellmanns..
