CVS: Keeping it simple

This week at CVS, there are going to be two ads - one for Sunday through Tuesday, the other for Wednesday through Saturday. Today's ad had a coupon for 20% off, which seemed great... until you read the fine print, which showed that it was only good for full-priced items.

I never buy items at CVS at full price, so this wasn't a big help for me.

The deals weren't that great, either. So I kept it simple and just picked up some paper towels and toilet paper. That's it! The deals weren't even all that great, but I needed the products and I had Extra Care Bucks to use to help pay for them.

Here's what I got from this ad:

1 Cottonelle 18-pack @ $10.00
$0.55 off ONE COTTONELLE Bathroom Tissue 9 pack
= $9.45

1 Scott paper towels 6-pack @ $4.99
- $0.75/4 Scott Rolls Scott Towels, exp. 10/21/12 (SS 09/16/12 R)
= $4.24

Total product: $13.69
Pay with $7 in ECBs ($1, $1, $1, $4)

Total after ECBs: $6.69
Tax: 84¢

Total out of pocket: $7.53
Total saved compared to CVS full prices: $13.?? (did not print)
ECBs received: $1 for using green bag tag four times
