Walgreens: A bundle of trouble

This week's trip to Walgreens started out pretty well. I was able to find all the products that I wanted. But when I got to the register and presented my coupons, I had some trouble.

I had purchased the Kleenex 4-pack of 60-ct boxes of tissues, priced at $4.00. I planned to use the $1/1 Kleenex Facial Tissue (Walgreens, Sept) coupon and the $0.50 off Kleenex (3) 50-ct.+ Boxes or (1) Bundle Pack; Excludes Trial Size, exp. 9/23/12 (SS 08/12/12) manufacturer's coupon.

The Walgreens store coupon took off correctly, but the Kleenex manufacturer's coupon did not scan.  The cashier then said that I had not bought the right product for that coupon.

I argued that I had.  It was a tissue box bundle pack, and each box had more than 50 tissues.  Why wouldn't it count?

The cashier didn't budge, so I asked for the manager.  After a discussion, she agreed with the cashier, that since the coupon did not scan, it could not be taken.

I was pretty ticked off, and normally in that situation I would refuse to buy the product.  But we are almost out of tissues, so I begrudgingly went ahead and bought it anyway.

Here's the coupon in question:

Here, on the coupon, Bundle Pack has a ® mark, meaning it refers to a specific product, not to just any bundle pack.  My pack did not say Bundle Pack® on it. So I have to admit that on the bundle pack issue, I might have been wrong.

Still, I bought more than three boxes with more than 50 tissues in each box, though they were bundled together.  So I'm still not sure why this coupon wasn't taken.

Did you do this deal with this coupon?  Was your coupon taken?  Leave a comment below!

I'm sorry to hear the Kleenex coupon did not work for you. I tried earlier this evening & it worked fine for me. Walgreens I find can be tricky @ times with coupons.
