ALDI: Deals there for the taking

I went to ALDI twice this week, each time for the basics: dairy, eggs, baking supplies, and on-sale produce.  But on my first trip, I found a few special surprises:

I found a bin where just a few marked-down items were displayed, all at really incredible prices.  There were just a few of each, though.  But I picked up some chilies, cookies, sprinkles, and icing for almost nothing.  Great deals, just there for the taking!

Here's what I got on the two trips:

Trip #1:

2 gallons milk @ $3.09 (ouch!) = $6.18
2 dozen eggs @ $1.39 = $2.78
2 sleeves celery @ 79¢ = $1.58
2 margarine @ 79¢ = $1.58
3 cucumbers @ 29¢ = 87¢
2 lemon swirl cookies @ 99¢ = $1.98
1 5-lb all-purpose flour @ $1.77
1 2-lb brown sugar @ $1.39
1 Oreo icing @ 49¢
1 whole wheat bread @ $1.29
4 diced green chilies @ 25¢ = $1.00
2 ice cream sprinkles @ 99¢ = $1.98

Total out of pocket: $22.89

Trip #2:
2 dozen eggs @ $1.39 = $2.78
2 gallons milk @ $3.09 = $6.18

1.65 lb bananas @ 44¢/lb = 73¢
2 baby carrots @ 59¢ = $1.18
