Publix: BOGOs without coupons - a good deal?

This week, I bought a lot of BOGOs without coupons.

Usually I don't do that.  I try to combine BOGO deals with coupons to get the best deal I can.  But when there's a BOGO deal without a coupon, it usually is still a good deal compared to purchasing a similar house-brand item at full price at ALDI or Walmart.

So if it's something that goes on sale rarely, I'll buy it on a BOGO sale even without a coupon.  But if it's something that's on sale regularly, I'll let it go and wait for a better sale.

Publix had BOGO deals on items that often run out quickly here in the Frugal Follies household, so I ended up going for the good deals!

There were coupons for $1.00 off 1 Athenos Feta and one Dole Salad, but unfortunately my store did not carry Dole salad. I wasn't sure I wanted to buy it at full price anyway.  So I got the feta without the coupons.  Can't wait to use it to make my Feta and Tomato Pasta!

And I also got hummus, sour cream, and sundried tomatoes (all BOGO) without coupons.  I had planned to get cottage cheese without coupons as well, but then I found 70¢ coupons from a blinkie coupon machine right on the shelf.  Yay!  I love finding unexpected coupons!

I also got Bush's beans with this $1.00 off two BUSH'S Baked or Grillin' Beans coupon, and 6 boxes of cereal, using 2 $1/3 Target coupon stacked with 2 $1.00 off any 2 Kellogg's Cereals coupons and 1 $1.00 off any 2 Kellogg's Cereals coupon.

And I got 4 Smart Balance butters with a BOGO coupon as well as 2 $1.10 off when you buy any ONE Smart Balance® Spreadable Butter coupons.  And I was able to get a great price on Ritz Whole Wheat Crackers (I didn't know they had a whole wheat variety!) with two B2G1 Nabisco cookies or crackers coupons.

Here's all the details on what I got:

6 FiberPlus and Raisin Bran Crunch cereals @ BOGO $4.29 = $12.87
- 2 $1.00 off any 2 Kellogg's Cereals (FiberPlus included)
- 1 $1.00 off any 2 Kellogg's Cereals (Raisin Bran included)
- 2 $1/3 Kellogg's cereals Target coupon
= $7.87 for six, or $1.31 each

4 Bush's beans @ 3/$5 = $6.67
- 2 $1.00 off two BUSH'S Baked or Grillin' Beans
= $4.67 for four, or $1.17 each

6 Nabisco Ritz crackers @ BOGO $3.89 =  $11.67
- 2 B2G1 Nabisco cookies or crackers (max value $2.50)
= $6.67 for six, or $1.11 each

4 Smart Balance butter spread @ BOGO $2.50 = $5.00
- B1G1 Smart Balance Butter printable (you might receive a smaller coupon)
- 2 $1.10/1 Smart Balance Spreadable Butter printable (it says you can increase it to $1.75 but that didn't work for me)
= 30¢ for four, or 8¢ each

2 Friendship cottage cheese @ BOGO $2.49
- 2 $0.70 off Friendship product blinkie coupon
= $1.09 for two, or 55¢ each

2 California Sun-Dry sundried tomatoes @ BOGO $2.79

2 Sabra hummus @ BOGO $3.99

2 Athenos feta @ BOGO $2.59

2 Breakstone's sour cream @ BOGO $2.59

1.12 lb grapes @ $1.69/lb = $1.89

- $5 off $50 Doris Italian Market Recyclebank coupon

Total out of pocket: $29.45
Total saved compared to Publix full prices: $70.64
