Walgreens: The most important coupon tip you'll ever learn

When you start couponing, there are lots of important coupon tips to learn - how to find coupons, how to keep them organized, how to combine store and manufacturer's coupons to save more, how to use coupons to get overages which can be used to purchase items without coupons.  But here is the most important coupon tip you'll ever learn:

Bring your coupons to the store!

I didn't follow this tip for my Walgreens trip.  Oops!

But I remembered that eggs and cream cheese were on sale for 99¢ each - cheaper than at ALDI, where eggs are $1.29 a dozen and cream cheese is $1.19 per 8-ounce brick.  So I bought some of each.  I'll make another trip to Walgreens later this week to buy my coupon items as well as more eggs and cream cheese.

Here's what I got:

2 dozen eggs @ 99¢ = $1.98

4 8-oz cream cheese @ 99¢ = $3.96

Total product: $5.94
Pay with $1 Register Rewards from last week

Total out of pocket: $4.94
Total saved compared to Walgreens full prices: $3.64

Bringing the coupons with you is a good tip :) The other is to remember your wallet. I went once when I had a really little guy and I left my wallet in the diaper bag.. luckily I had enough pocket change in the car to cover the remaining amount. How horrible to make the effort to get to the store without the coupons but it will stick with you for next time :)
