Publix: Saved 72% over two trips

I took two trips to Publix this week.  The first one was at the ends of the sales week.  I had two Recyclebank coupons for Kashi cereal which I wanted to use.  So I picked up two boxes of Kashi cereal - and the boxes had codes worth 50 Recyclebank points each!  So I'll be able to get another Kashi coupon, yay!

No photo, but here's the details on the deal:

2 Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal @ $2.99 (saved $1.06) = $5.98
- 2 $2/1 Kashi Product (Recyclebank)
= $1.98 for two, or 99¢ each

Total spent: $1.98
Total saved compared to Publix full prices: $6.12

Then I took a trip on the first day of the new sales cycle.  Again, there wasn't a lot that I needed other than frozen veggies and toilet paper, but I had a $10 off $50 Whole Foods coupon that I really, really wanted to use.  So I ended up buying a 4-lb package of kosher chicken thighs, and I bought Goodnites for my daughter, using my flexible savings account to pay for them.

Here's what I got:

1 Kleenex Cottonelle 12-pack @ $6.49
- $1/1 Cottonelle Toilet Paper @Publix, exp. 5/9/12 (SS 04/15/12 #2 R)
= $5.49

8 Birds Eye Steamfresh Chef's Favorites @ 50% off $2.59 =  $10.36
- 8 $0.35/1 Birds Eye Steamfresh Chef's Favorites coupon found in-store
= $7.56, or 95¢ each

1 Empire quick frozen chicken thighs @ $14.29

1 Goodnites @ $19.99
- $2/1 GoodNites Underwear printable
- $3/1 Huggies Diapers, Goodnites or Pull-Ups Publix in-ad coupon
= $14.99

Total before coupons: $51.13

- $10 off $50 Whole Foods coupon

Total after coupons: $32.33
Tax: $1.59
Total: $33.92

Pay $21.19 with Flexible Savings Account ($19.99 product + $1.20 tax)

Total out of pocket after FSA: $12.73
Total saved: $31.86

Total of two trips: $14.71
Total saved: $37.98, or 72%
