FoodSaver vacuum sealing system coupons

Vacuum sealing systems seem to be all the rage now.  The products claim you will save money by keeping food fresher in the refrigerator or freezer.

I'm not sure how true this is.  The sealer itself is expensive, and the replacement plastic is an ongoing expense.  They probably do keep food from getting freezer burn quicker than freezer plastic bags.  But you could use my mother-in-law's trick - put a straw in the plastic bag, seal except for the straw, then suck all the air out of the bag.  I have to admit I don't do that, but it works for her!
