Publix: Another benefit of couponing

There are lots of great benefits to couponing.  Saving money is of course the biggest one, but another is that you can often get to try new products for free or for very little.

That happened this week.  Kraft is unveiling several new products and has deals at Publix on them.  I had already tried the MilkBite Milk & Granola Bars (they were delicious), but I was also excited to try their Fresh Take cheese & breadcrumbs combo and their Philadelphia Indulgence chocolate cream cheese.  (My kids are going to love putting that on my homemade challah - and I'll probably love it, too.  Maybe too much.)

And I was able to get those items for almost nothing by combining their sale prices, a $2/2 Publix store coupojn in the Yellow Advantage Flyer, and manufacturer's coupons.

The manufacturers do this to get the product in your hands, so that you'll be more likely to buy it once it goes back to full price.  But I won't succumb to this - unless, of course, they put the items back on sale and have more coupons!

Here's what I got at Publix this week:

2 Publix Steam in Bag edamame @ 99¢ = $1.98

2 Kraft Fresh Take cheese & breadcrumbs @ $2.00 = $4.00
- $2/2 participating Kraft products Publix coupon (Yellow Advantage Flyer)
- 2 $0.75/1 Kraft Fresh Take Cheese & Breadcrumb Mix printable
 = 50¢ for two, or 25¢ each
(There's also a $1/1 Kraft Fresh Take Cheese & Breadcrumb Mix printable which I missed)

2 Philadelphia Indulgence chocolate cream cheese @ $2.00 = $4.00
- $2/2 participating Kraft products Publix coupon (Yellow Advantage Flyer)
- $1.50/2 Kraft Fresh Take, Philadelphia Cooking Cream, Philadelphia Indulgence or Milkbite Granola Bar Products printable

2 Athenos feta @ BOGO $4.49
