Funding a small business

Ever thought about starting a small business?  How would you pay for it?

A lot of people think that to start a small business, they have to get a loan for a lot of money.  But many small businesses can be started with just a bit of capital that you save yourself.  It is tough enough to get a small business to make a profit without the specter of debt hanging above you.

What businesses can you start for almost nothing?  Check out this link from The Simple Dollar: 50 Side Businesses You Can Start on Your Own.  Most can be started with very little money.

But if you absolutely do need financing, check out all possible sources to get working capital financing.  I wouldn't borrow from family or friends (this can wreck your relationship), but check out local banks and credit unions as well as online sources.  Do your research and seriously consider if you need to take out a loan.
