Save on taxes with transportation costs

I'll be working on my federal tax return today - how about you?

Here's a great tip to help you save on your taxes: if you itemize your deductions, you can take any mileage you've incurred doing charitable work as a deduction!

So if you've driven to bring meals to elderly people or brought personal care items to a women's shelter, you can deduct the cost of the transportation.  You'll get a small amount per mile driven.  It's not the biggest money-saver, but when it comes to taxes, you want to save as much as you're legally allowed to.
