Save on eyeglasses

When I get eyeglasses - and everyone in my family wears glasses, so this is a regular purchase for me - I tend to just buy eyeglasses at the optometrist's office.  While this is certainly the most convenient choice, it definitely is not the most frugal one.

I just learned about Zenni Optical, an online source for glasses.  They have a huge variety of glasses - right now, they have over 3,000 pairs listed!  I love these funky ones:

But I'm a little more practical and not so daring, so if I were to buy a pair today, I'd probably get something like this pair:

The lenses in Zenni Optical glasses are available with an optional fingerprint-resistant coating. Oleophobic coating allows the glasses to repel dust, fingerprints, oil, and water.  It keeps your lenses cleaner, and you won't need to be constantly cleaning your glasses.  (My kids' glasses are always getting lots of fingerprints on them - they need this!)

The coating also reduces reflections, making it easier to drive at night with the glasses on, and even makes flash photographs come out better!

The coating only costs an extra $15 for all these features.  And you'll save so much on the glasses that this small extra cost is no big deal - Zenni Optical prices are super cheap! The top pair shown is $23.95; the second pair is $12.95.  But there are currently over 200 pairs of $6.95 prescription eyeglasses on the site.  Crazy prices!

So next time I - or someone in my family - needs a pair of eyeglasses, I'm going to check out Zenni Optical!
