Publix: Winter Family Savings

As I was leaving Publix on my last trip, I sneaked a peek at the flyers carousel. Normally there's not much there but the current ads, but this time I found lots of the Winter Family Savings books. Finally! I had been looking for them for weeks, and I had missed out on a lot of good deals because I didn't have the coupon books.

So I took a trip over to Publix a couple of days ago to get one of the great deals using those coupons. I also picked up a kosher turkey. I'm having visitors this week, so I have a lot of mouths to feed. And at $2.29 per pound, it's cheaper to buy the turkey at Publix than it is at the kosher supermarket.

Here's what I got:

8 Kern's nectar @ BOGO $2.59 = $10.36
- 8 $1.00 off Kern's nectar (Publix Winter Family Savings booklet)
= $2.56 for eight, or 30¢ each

12.31 lb Empire frozen turkey @ $2.29/lb = $28.19

Total product: $30.55
Tax: 63¢
Total spent: $31.18
Total saved compared to Publix full prices: $29.43
