ALDI: Gifts galore

I headed over to ALDI today not only to get the basics, but also to get some presents for hard-to-buy-for family members. (Yes, I waited until today to finish my shopping!)

I was delighted over the number of potential gifts available at ALDI. There were many gift tins of nuts, popcorn, and candy. Of course, there were lots of and other junk food. But I hadn't really noticed the beer and wine section of ALDI, and I was pleasantly surprised at the selection. (Not all stores sell alcohol.) I picked out three bottles of wine and one bottle of Irish cream, as well as a high-percentage dark chocolate bar. Hope they like their presents!

Here's what I got:

2 dozen eggs @ 99¢ = $1.98
3 gallons milk @ $2.69 = $8.07
1 5-lb all purpose flour @ $1.84
1 12-oz shredded cheese @ $2.99
1 celery @ 89¢
2 honey wheat bread @ $1.29 = $2.58
2 cucumbers @ 55¢ = $1.10
1 head lettuce @ $1.15
1 pack tomatoes @ $1.79
1.43 lb bananas @ 44¢/lb = 63¢
1 bag baby carrots @ 99¢
2 cans mushrooms @ 59¢ = $1.18
3 bottles wine @ $4.99 = $14.97
1 bottle Irish Cream @ $2.69
1 dark chocolate bar @ $1.89
1 yellow cake mix @ 99¢
1 chocolate frosting @ $1.29
1 sprinkles @ 99¢
1 20-ct tortillas @ $1.99
1 garlic powder @ 99¢
1 instant oatmeal @ $1.39

Total product: $52.38
Tax: $1.18
Total out of pocket: $53.56

I'm so jealous that milk is so cheap there! We have minimum milk prices here in Pennsylvania and it runs about 3.75 a gallon
