ALDI: Second time's the charm

After making a trip over to the new ALDI in my area (which wasn't open yet, as it turns out), I went to my regular store to do some shopping.

Right at the front door, I found a great deal: packages of dinner rolls for 75¢ each (regularly $1.99). The use by date is coming up soon, but I'll just freeze them until I use them. What for, I'm not sure. Perhaps I'll use them to replace the challah in my Leftover Challah Stuffing.

Here's what I got:

4 large eggs @ $1.39 = $5.56
2 gallons milk @ $2.79 = $5.58
2.04 lb bananas @ 44¢/lb = 90¢
1 3-lb bag sweet potatoes @ $1.19
2 cucumbers @ 49¢ = 98¢
1 cottage cheese @ $2.19
1 flour tortillas @ 99¢
1 frozen juice concentrate @ 92¢
1 whole wheat bread @ $1.29
3 multigrain rolls @ 75¢ (normally $1.99) = $2.25

Total out of pocket: $21.85
Saved:  $3.72

Great trip with lots of healthy food! We don't have an Aldi in our area. I wish we did.

Our eggs are up at $1.59 at Aldi. I ended up buying eggs at Target for $1.12 after sale and coupons, and then today I picked up three packages of free eggs with my cheese purchase at Publix.
