ALDI opens November 17 in Tamarac, Florida

(UPDATE: The opening for ALDI has been pushed back to December 1st. Click here for more information.)

Exciting news for Frugal Follies readers in Tamarac, Florida: another ALDI is coming to our area!

The new store is located at 7100 N. University Drive in Tamarac, on the northeast corner of University Dr. and McNab Rd. If I recall correctly, this location used to be an Albertson's store which closed a few years ago.

And good news! In Sunday's (11/6/11) South Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper, there was a $5 off $30 coupon for this new ALDI location! If you still have the newspaper, it's in the Local section. Be sure to clip the coupon and use it at the new location.

The new store joins these five other ALDI locations in South Florida:
  • 3825 W. Hillsboro Blvd, Deerfield Beach, FL
  • 3301 N. State Road 7, Lauderdale Lakes, FL
  • 4801 Linton Blvd, Delray Beach, FL
  • 11330 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines, FL
  • 19650 S. Dixie Highway, Cutler Bay, FL
In addition, there will be a new ALDI in Coral Springs.  It will be on the southeast corner of Sample Road and NW 62nd Street, just west of State Road 7.  It was scheduled to be open in November, but last time I drove by, the building did not appear to be complete.  When I hear about a grand opening date, I'll be sure to let you know!

Not familiar with ALDI? It's a different type of grocery store that has many of the basics you use in the kitchen each day. They don't carry name brands; instead all of the items are their own house brand. And I find ALDI to have the lowest regular prices in my area. In particular, their prices on milk and eggs are by far the least expensive. And their weekly deals on produce can't be beat.

Check out the ALDI website for more information.
