ALDI: Filling up the fridge

I had been on vacation for the past two weeks, and before we left, I made sure to empty out my fridge by having an Eat from the Pantry week.  Other than a few jars of sauces, jams, and dressings in the fridge door, here's the total contents of my refrigerator when I got back:

  • a bottle of lemon juice
  • half a dozen eggs
  • one container of feta cheese
  • a few slices of American cheese
  • a few tortillas
  • a few cups of yogurt
So it was time to fill back up yesterday!  So I went to ALDI to get some dairy products, breads, and produce.  I also picked up eggs, cheese, and other produce at Western Beef.

Here's what I got at ALDI.  I misplaced the receipt (how could I lose it so quickly?) so the prices are from memory - they might be off by a few cents.

2 gallons milk @ $2.39 = $4.78
1 cottage cheese @ $1.99
1 juice concentrate @ 92¢
1 cream cheese @ $1.29
2 whole wheat bread @ $1.29 = $2.58
2 macaroni and cheese @ 39¢ = 78¢
1 strawberries @ $1.49
1 blueberries @ $1.29
1 3-lb bag apples @ $3.59
3 cucumbers @ 59¢ = $1.77
1 carrots @ 99¢
1 Parmesan cheese @ $2.39
1 bag tortillas @ 99¢

Total spent: $24.85

Wow, you are brave to buy apples at this time of the year:) They are so expensive.

I sure am glad that we have Aldi for those basic items there are no coupons for.

Thank you for linking up at the Aldi Savings Linky at the Aldi Spot.
