Who needs coupons?

On Wednesday, I took trips over to my produce place and to ALDI to get some basics. Both have low prices, but don't take coupons. That's okay, I don't need them there!

At the produce store I got:

2 bunches green onions @ 2/99¢
2 packages green beans @ 2/99¢
7 tomatoes @ 99¢/lb
4 peppers @ 99¢/lb
2 cucumbers @ 2/99¢
 1 cantaloupe @ 99¢
1 sleeve garlic @ 99¢
(the strawberries snuck into the picture, but they were from ALDI)

Total spent: $9.58

At ALDI, I noticed that the prices of milk went up, but eggs went down.  Milk was $1.99 per gallon, but now it's $2.09.  Eggs had been $1.29 around Easter, but now there $1.09.  I'm kinda bummed about the milk but having bought it at Publix last week where the retail price is $3.75 (ouch!), an extra dime doesn't seem like all that much.

I accidentally deleted the ALDI shopping picture, but here's a list of what I got:

2 milk @ $2.09
1 cream cheese @ $1.29
1 lb butter @ $2.39
4 package garden salad @ 25¢
1 strawberries @ $1.59
1 bunch bananas @ $1.02
1 package salmon @ $3.99
4 peanut butter chips @ 50¢
1 table salt @ 35¢
1 bottle apple juice @ $1.29
1 5-lb bag flour @ $1.64
1 box raisins @ $1.69
1 package flour tortillas @ 99¢
3 dozen eggs @ $1.09

Tax: 12¢
Total spent: $26.74

I love shopping at Aldi! We were without one for 5 years and were tickled to move back into an area which has Aldi and Sav-a-Lot plus an awesome discount bread store where we can get organic whole wheat bread for $0.95 a loaf on Saturdays plus numerous other breads for $0.49 on Saturdays. Today alone we picked up 10 loaves of bread plus 4 sleeves of blueberry bagels for just under $11.
