Walgreens: My Friends and Family deals

Walgreens had their Friends & Family 15-20% discount yesterday, so I took a look again at the ad to see if the extra 15% would help make some good deals. I found a couple of things that seemed more appealing with the extra percentage off.

When I got there, I was disappointed to find out that they were out of StarKist tuna. And though I wanted more brown sugar, but I didn't yet have any more coupons from the 3/27 RedPlum insert. I hadn't yet received my free weekly paper with coupon inserts in it - one shows up at home on Thursday night or Friday morning, and I pick up several more copies from a newsstand on Sunday. (It runs a week behind in the free newspaper.)

So here's what I did get:

3 Chamin bath tisse @ $2.97 (15% off) = $8.91
- $1.29 (in-ad coupon)
- 3 25¢ off Charmin coupons from the 2/27 Procter & Gamble insert (expired 3/31)
= $6.87 for three, or $2.29 each

4 Geisha mushrooms @ 85¢ (15% off) = $3.40
- $1.72 (in-ad coupon)
= $1.68 for four, or 42¢ each (cheaper than ALDI!)

3 Deerfield Farms spices @ $3.82 total (15% off)
- $1.80 (in-ad coupon)
= $2.02 for three, or 67¢ each

Tax: 46¢
Total spent: $11.03
Saved: $8.40

Today, I got my coupon inserts in the delivered newspaper, so I went back to Walgreens (I had to pick up a prescription anyway, so it wasn't an extra trip) and bought 2 boxes of Domino brown sugar for 79¢ each with the in-ad coupon.  Subtracting off the 75¢/2 coupon from the 3/27 RedPlum insert, I bought 2 boxes for 83¢, or 42¢ each.
