CVS: Spent 1 cent, saved $33.11

I took a quick trip over to CVS today. There are several things I want this week from CVS, but I wanted to take care of the most complicated one:

Buy $15 of selected products, get $5 ECB:

  • Coke 12 pack, 3/$13
  • Coke 2 liter or other beverages, 3/$3
  • Wheat Thins, Triscuit, or Ritz, 2/$4
  • Planters peanuts or Flavor Grove nuts, 2/$4
So we don't drink soda in the Frugal Follies household, and the other beverages seem like a waste to me.  So I had to do this deal with just the crackers and the nuts.  All the way there, I was hoping that there would still be crackers available in the store (this is at 1:00 pm on Sunday).

And... yes, the crackers were still there!  Woohoo!

Here's what I got:

4 Triscuit @ $2 = $8 (regular price $4.39 each)
- 4 $1/1 Triscuit Facebook printable coupons
= $4 for 4, or $1 each

(If you can't see the word Coupon on the left sidebar of the Triscuit Facebook page, here's what you do: Click Account -> Account Settings.  Then choose Account Security - change.  Uncheck the box that says "Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible."  When you go back to the Triscuit page, you should see Coupon on the left sidebar.  Once you've printed the coupons, put your security setting back.)

2 Wheat Thins @ $2 = $4 (regular price $3.99 each)
- $1/2 coupon from the 1/30 Smartsource insert
= $3 for 2, or $1.50 each

2 Flavor Grove almonds @ $2 = $4 (regular price $3.79 each)
- $1/2 coupon from the 3/20 Smartsource insert
= $3 for 2, or $1.50 each

Total product cost: $10.00
Used $9.99 ECB from last week's trip
Total out of pocket: 1¢
Total saved: $33.11 (or 99.97% - I just had to figure that out)

And here is something interesting: The weekly ad gave a limit of 1 for this deal, but it looks like the limit is higher.  My receipt says:
Kraft, Spend 15 Get 5 ECB
Amount Toward this Reward: 15.00
Amount Needed to Earn Reward: 15.00

...although I purchased $16 in products, not $15.  So I am a little suspicious as to whether or not sure if this is right or not.  Anyone done this deal twice and had it work both times?

Wow that is awesome. I love almost free. Do you have a linky tool? I would like to trade links. I used your site to create my list for Kroger this week. Thanks so much for all the information you have. I am saving a bundle!

I couldn't get the facebook qs to work so I never shared about it, going to try now and post if I can get them to work. Thanks for linking up your CVS shopping trip at Simply CVS.
