Menu Plan 2/21/11: I'm in an Italian Daze

This week's menu will be full of Italian-inspired dishes, thanks to the Italian Days sale at Publix.  I went last week and purchased items retailing for $50 and only spent $10!  And I'm planning on going back again before this week's sale is over.

Also, I'll be having relatives visiting this week, which means cooking larger meals than usual.  It's a little more work, but it's nice having company!

Here's what's for dinner this week:

Monday - baked tilapia, brown rice and black beans, salad

Tuesday - chicken basquaise over fresh fettuccine

Wednesday - mushroom pizza on whole wheat pizza dough, fruit

Thursday - pasta with meat sauce, salad

Friday - chicken soup with matzo balls, pot roast cooked in the crockpot,, carrots, challah, salad (still didn't make this, and it's better for company anyway)

Saturday - chicken tenders, leftover challah, cut-up veggies

Sunday - dinner out!

@Joji - In the Sunday newspaper, there are coupon inserts included along with the Sunday ads and other features. Generally there are two: the Smartsource (SS) insert and the RedPlum (RP) insert. There are occasionally other inserts like the Procter & Gamble (P&G) or General Mills (GM). Some holiday weekends there are none, or only one insert.

Since you live in South Florida, you can get free inserts in the free Forum newspapers - they're located in kiosks in stores, restaurants, and other public places. This is a great way to get a good collection of coupons for free!
