Drugstore Bootstrap Challenge: A much better week

I'm doing the Drugstore Bootstrap Challenge (join me!), where I'm trying to build up my collection of Register Rewards from Walgreens and Extra Care Bucks from CVS.

This week was so, so, so much better than last week - everything went according to plan.  I only paid $1.44 for products at Walgreens  (not including tax), and 57¢ for products at CVS (again not including tax).  I was able to increase my holdings of ECBs at CVS, though the amount of RRs from Walgreens I have has gone down a bit.

Here's my latest stats:

Total cash paid: $21.62
Total tax paid: $2.32
RRs started with: $0
RRs on hand: $23

Products purchased:
2 Natrol melatonin
4 Vicks Sinex
4 Butterfinger Snackerz
2 Royal gelatin
1 Arnicare gel
1 Blink Tears
5 Gain dish liquid
4 Skippy peanut butter
2 Ragu pasta sauce
3 Lipton tea
1 Veripur hand sanitizer
2 Crest Pro-Health toothpaste
2 Reach Total Care toothbrushes
1 Lysol Healthy Touch No-Touch soap system
3 greeting cards

Total cash paid: $15.29
Total tax paid: $2.32
ECBs started with: $4.99
ECBs on hand: $16.58

Total items purchased:
6 Herbal Essences shampoo
3 Rice Chex cereal
2 Quaker instant oatmeal
2 Speed stick deodorant
1 Tums
2 Colgate Total toothpaste
1 Schick Hydro 3 razor

I'm having trouble trying to figure out what I can get at Walgreen's....not spend too much money, but still come home with RR's.

Marsha,I find it difficult to do at Walgreen's also. What I would do is just focus on those items that are free after RR's. If you can find coupons for those items as well, then you've actually made money!
I have an hour for lunch, and all 3 drugstores are within close proximity, so I tend to gather info in the beginning of week, and then take one store on one lunch hour and see what I can accomplish. Sometimes I save Rite Aid for Saturdays, because it takes me longer and there is one very near my house. So all I have done this week so far is: Bought 4 Arm & Hammer deodorant at Wags (on sale for .99 w/ coupon) but I didn't use my $6 RR because that's all I was buying and didn't want to lose the $2 (there was a limit of 4.) At CVS, I used the $8 ECB's that I got last week (for free shopping) on the 2 tubes of Colgate Sensitive toothpaste along with 2 coupons totalling $1.35. So I walked out of the store with free toothpaste, a bag of Hershey's valentine kisses, also free and $7.98 in ECB's.
And I have $13 in +UP rewards burning a hole in my pocket for Rite Aid.

You will not believe I lost the $11 +UP rewards I got from Rite Aid all on one receipt. Never lost my drugstore credit before, how strange. Oh well, no use crying over spilt milk.

@Debi - could you call Rite Aid's 800 number and see if anything could be done about that?

@Marsha - I agree, Walgreens hasn't had that many good deals the last couple of weeks.

@Cathie - good advice!
