Wednesday Weekly Shopping: It's not a cakewalk

I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!

It's week three of the Clean Out the Cupboards Challenge, and I'm continuting to stick to my goals.  I bought pretty much everything at ALDI this week - except for a can of mixed nuts, I bought only dairy and produce there.  I also picked up some luncheon meat at Publix (the type I use isn't carried at ALDI), and picked up a couple other dairy and produce items there as well.

So far, the cooking part of the challenge hasn't been the tough part.  The tough part has been the lack of shopping!  But that's why it's called the Clean Out the Cupboards Challenge, not the Clean Out the Cupboards Cakewalk.

When I see all the great deals that bloggers have linked to below, I am getting a bit jealous.  But, I think to myself that the great sales will come around again - generally, the same product will go on sale once every 12-16 weeks.  So though I didn't catch the great deal this time, I will get it next time, I hope!

I've definitely had some space to think about how I want to shop once I start up again - I don't want to always be planning at the last second; instead, I want to have a set time each week when I do my planning.  And I want to get on a schedule of when I hit each store, so that I'm not wasting gas on unnecessary errands.

Overall, this week I spent $32.70 for items which retail for $34.27, or a 5% savings, woohoo!.  (But don't compare percentages!)  Of course, if I compared the ALDI prices to supermarket full prices, it would show a lot more savings.

For the year, I've spent $92.66 for items which retail for $108.93, or a 15% savings.  That number should start going up once I'm back to bargain shopping!

See all my shopping here.

How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. The aim is not to brag, but to inspire!  Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well. If you don't have a blog, please leave a comment!

I am sure it is tough to hold off on the bargain shopping this month, but you are right, the deals will be there when you wrap up this challenge. And, your pantry will have plenty of room for all of the bargains that you find :)

Thanks for linking up at Homemakingmom.com!!!

You shouldn't worry one bit about your savings. You are saving a ton by eating from the cupboards!

Stopping by from Money Saving Mom. I'm inspired by your pantry challenge and really need to start making meals with items from our pantry. I recently donated 5 boxes of cereal that expire in March because there's no way we could have eaten them all before they expired. For the two of us, sometimes less really is more.
