Menu Plan 11/14/10: What can I get for dinner at ALDI?

I have a new grocery shopping place in my area--ALDI arrived in South Florida.  I made one quick trip to check out the place on Friday.  I'll be going again soon, not just to make a price list, but also to see what they have available in the frozen foods section that could work its way into my weekly menu.

There are a lot of foods, such as fish fillets, that I enjoy making and eating, but that I've cut out due to the expense-- I try to keep my grocery, paper goods, and personal care items budget at $60-$80 per week for my family of five (husband, wife, and daughters aged 13, almost 10, and 5).  But if they're more affordable at ALDI, I might put them back into the weekly rotation!

Here's the non-ALDI plan for this week:

Monday - turkey and veggie stir-fry, brown rice

Tuesday - tuna noodle casserole, salad

Wednesday - pepper pizza on  whole wheat pizza dough, fruit

Thursday - Clean out the Crisper Pasta and Vegetables

Friday - sliced turkey, potato-veggie mixture, salad, challah

Saturday - banana pancakes, fruit

Sunday - restaurant meal!

We have an Aldi near us - I find that most of their prices - and their products - are very good. I highly recommend their chicken broth (in the 32-ounce carton).

Also, be sure to check their online ad for "special purchases."

Your menu looks great. I just love Tuna Casserole. Thank you for sharing.
