Welcome to Friday Figures! Link up your best grocery deals below!

How was your savings this week?  It wasn't the best for me.  I did well at Publix, but we were out of meat, so I made a big purchase.  That brought the weekly spending over $130, when I typically try to keep it at $80 or less.

Here's what I got this week:

Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze Review & Giveaway

The Purex brand provided me with a sample of Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze exchange for a product review.  However, all the opinions expressed here are my own.

I do lots of laundry.  With three active big kids, I pretty much spend all of Sunday sorting, running, and folding laundry.  And I want it to smell nice and fresh!

So I was really excited to give Purex Crystal Fresh Mountain Breeze a try.  I've tried other Purex Crystals products, and I know that they're great.  But would this product meet those high standards?

The folks at Purex let me know that the new Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze help clothes smell fresh for weeks, not just days.  The product doesn't reduce the absorbency of towels.  And its natural formula is safe for your family and for the environment, too!

So I ran a big load of musty, smelly towels.  Before I started washing, I opened up the bottle of Purex Crystals and took a sniff.  I immediately sensed a fresh, clean scent, one that you would definitely associate with clean clothes.  I sprinkled in some of the crystals and ran my wash as normal.

When I removed the clean, dry towels from the dryer, I could smell that great scent on the towels.  It wasn't overpowering, but when I put my nose to the towels, it smelled great!  I folded them up and put them in the linen closet.

Several days later, I took an unused towel from that load and smelled it.  The smell had disperses a bit, but the towel was definitely still smelling fresh and clean!  Wow!

So I definitely recommend Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze to keep your laundry smelling fresh!

Would you like to try Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze?  You can find the product at many local supermarkets, drug stores, and national chain stores.  Check out the Purex store locator to find a store near you.  And you can learn more about the Purex brand on the Purex Facebook page.

Or would you like to try it for free?

Frugal Follies is hosting a giveaway for a free product coupon for Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze!

Three winners will be chosen.  Each winner will receive one coupon for a free 28 oz bottle of Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze.  This is a manufacturer's coupon and expires on 06/30/2014.  It has a maximum value of $6.00. Limit one coupn per purchase of specified item.  Limit of 1 like coupon in same shopping trip.

The giveaway is open to residents of the 50 U.S. states plus the District of Columbia.  The giveaway ends on Sunday, March 30, 2014.  To enter, use the Rafflecopter form below!

Back to Friday Figures! (Friday Figures 03/14/14)

I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below, to inspire others to save more!

Welcome to Friday Figures! Link up your best grocery deals below!

For those of you wanting to see my final figures and for those of you who wanted to link up, I'm sorry that this hasn't appeared for the past two weeks.  I was very busy with a major family event and its aftermath, and blogging about my shopping trips definitely took a back seat.

So, two weeks ago (week ending 2/28), I have no idea what I spent.  I was buying food for my family as well as for several parties at my home, and I often bought for both at once.  So let's just say I spent $100 on food that week and saved nothing. I probably spent more than that, and I did use a couple of coupons, but most of the food was eaten by my large number of guests in my home.

Last week, the week ending 3/7, I spent $4.50 at Walmart, $33.16 at Publix, and took two trips to Publix, spending $25.32 and saving $41.96 on the first, and spending $18.81 and saving $23.33 on the other.  Overall I spent $81.79 and saved $65.29.

Here's what I got this week:

GE reveal® Light Bulb Review

Thanks to GE for providing two 4-packs of  GE reveal® 75W halogen light bulbs for this review free of charge!

It's so important to have good lighting in your home, don't you think?  What's the point of making a beautiful home if you can't see it very well?

My house has always had a lighting problem.  The living, dining, and family rooms are just one big gigantic room, so there aren't many walls where light can reflect.  So while it's light right near the lamps, it tends to get quite dark in the middle areas of my home.

So I was excited to give GE reveal® 75W halogen light bulbs a try in my home.

I was fascinated to learn that the light from the GE reveal® bulb brings out the colors and patterns that may normally go unnoticed under standard incandescent light. I never realized that a change in bulb might cause my house to look better! (I wonder if the bulbs can get rid of clutter, too? No, I guess not. Oh, well.)

And I love that these halogen light bulbs are energy-efficient! GE energy-efficient reveal® bulbs use 28% less energy than regular incandescent Reveal® bulbs. And that means lower energy bills. Now, you know I love that!

So here are my before-and-after pictures:

 Before GE reveal® makeover

As you can see, even with two lamps, there are some dark shadows in my living room.  The lamp on the right isn't projecting light from the top of the lamp.  And these lamps had 100W incandescent bulbs in them.  Now, let's see the difference with the 75W GE reveal® bulbs.

 After GE reveal® makeover

Much better!  (It looked even better in person, take my word for it!)  There are fewer shadows, and the lamp on the right is projecting light throughout the room.  The area was more brighter than before.  I think you can see the pattern on the couch much more clearly than in the first picture.

So I love my lighting makeover.  Now on to replace the rest of the bulbs in the room - although with better light, I may see more dirt, which means I'll have to clean more often.  Oh, well, you can't win them all!

Would you like to try GE reveal® halogen bulbs?  Learn more about them on the GE reveal® website, and find stores in your area where these bulbs are sold.

And you can save on your purchase as well!  Print a coupon for GE reveal® bulbs.

Hope this helps you light your home better at a lower cost!
