Save on outside storage

Need extra storage? Instead of renting space at a storage facility, why not add a storage shed in your backyard? (This assumes, of course, that you have a backyard.)

Here are some ideas to save:

  • Check with your city's building code to make sure that outside sheds are legal in your area, or if there are specific permits you need or codes your building needs to meet.
  • Ask friends and family with outside storage about their experiences.
  • If you have the know-how, consider building it yourself.
  • Otherwise, check all sources for wood and steel buildings, including hardware stores, companies which will build for you, or check online.
