Walgreens: Almost lost my Register Rewards!

I wasn't planning on going to Walgreens this week - I didn't see anything in the ad that stirred me enough to get me going there. But this morning, it dawned on me: I had $12.25 in Register Rewards from the Black Friday sale - and they were expiring today!

So I picked up the ad and checked out some deals list, but still wasn't inspired. So when I need to spend Register Rewards, I usually go with something that we use a lot of and can't find for free. Usually that's toilet paper. But this time, I spied a sale on feminine products, so I decided to go with that.

I did two transactions to maximize the use of the Register Rewards and get back as much as I could.

Transaction #1:
1 Playtex Gentle Glide tampons @ $6.99 (receive $2 RR)
- $1/1 Playtex Gentle Glide Tampons printable
= $5.99 ($3.99 after RRs)

3 Royal gelatin @ 20¢ (with in-ad coupon) = 60¢

Total product: $6.59
Pay with $6.50 ($4, $2.50) in RRs from Black Friday
Total product after RRs: 9¢
Tax: 42¢
Total out of pocket: 51¢
Amount saved compared to Walgreens full prices: $10.90
RRs received: $2

Transaction #2:
1 Playtex Gentle Glide tampons @ $6.99 (receive $2 RR)
- $1/1 Playtex Gentle Glide Tampons printable
= $5.99 ($3.99 after RRs)

2 Royal gelatin @ 20¢ (with in-ad coupon) = 40¢

Total product: $6.39
Pay with $5.75 ($3, $2.75) in RRs from Black Friday
Total product after RRs: 64¢
Tax: 42¢
Total out of pocket: $1.06
Amount saved compared to Walgreens full prices: $9.93
RRs received: $2

Total spent in two transactions: $1.57
Total saved: $20.83
RRs received: $4
