CVS: A detergent deal just in time!

I had been hoping that a laundry detergent deal would come soon, as I was down to my last bottle in my not-so-extreme stockpile. Luckily, the CVS fairies granted my wish! There was a limit of four bottles, which is fine with me. And when I got to the store, I found a big endcap display of the Purex detergent - those CVS folks are starting to learn that when they offer a good sale, people are going to get it.

I also was excited to see that Listerine Zero was on sale this week. My dentist recommended it over the Crest rinse we had been using. I had been watching for a good deal but hadn't seen one until now! Unfortunately, there was only one bottle left at my CVS when I got there Sunday afternoon.

Here's what I got:

4 Purex laundry detergent @ $1.98 = $7.92
- 4 $1 off Purex coupons from the 5/1 RedPlum insert
= $3.92 for four, or 98¢ each

1 Listerine Zero @ $3.98 (receive $1 ECB)
- $1 off Listerine Zero coupon from the 1/9 Smartsource insert (or 2/27 Smartsource insert or printable or printable)
= $2.89 ($1.89 after coupons and ECBs)

Total product cost: $6.81
Pay with $3 ECB from this trip
Total after ECBs: $3.81
Tax: 71¢
Total out of pocket: $4.52
Total saved compared to CVS full prices: $26.34
