Publix: Italian Daze

It's time for Publix Italian Days, and with that, bloggers bringing you some amazing deals! Like Laurie over at Passionate Penny Pincher, who posted a scenario to get 26 items for a total of 76¢! (That's an impossible scenario for me, since I live in the land of no double coupons.) Or Ruth over at Living Well, Spending Less, who bought over $280 in items for about $40, with no double coupons.

I didn't do quite as well as those ladies, but I'm still happy with what I got!

2 Sorrento mozzarella @ $2.50 each
- 2 $1/1 coupons from the 2/6 Smartsource insert
= $1.50 each

1 Sorrento ricotta @ $3.00
- $1/1 coupn from the 2/6 Smartsource insert
= $2

2 V8 Fusion + Tea @ BOGO $3.99
- 2 $1/1 printable coupons
= $1.99 for two, or about $1.00 each

4 Progresso black beans @ 3/$2
- $1/4 Progresso items Publix store coupon
= $1.67 for 4, or about 42¢ each

1 Kashi GoLean Crisp cereal @ $2.50
- $3/1 Kashi GoLean Crisp coupon from Vocalpoint home mailer
= 50¢ moneymaker

4 Ronzoni Quick Cook pasta @ BOGO $1.39
- 2 $1/2 Ronzoni Quick Cook printable coupons
= 78¢ for 4, or 19¢ each

4 Buitoni fettuccine @ BOGO $2.19
- 4 $1/1 Buitoni coupons from the 1/2 Smartsource insert
= 38¢ for 4, or less than 10¢ each

2 Publix cream cheese @ $1.25 (no coupons)

2 Eat Smart vegetable bags @ $1.00 (no coupon)

1 cantaloupe @ $1.50 (no coupon)

Total before coupons: $30.32
- $5 off purchase of $30 or more Publix home mailer
- $15 in coupons
Total after coupons: $10.32
Tax: 24¢
Total out of pocket: $10.56
Total savings: $43.58

I could have saved even more, but the $1.50 Sargento shredded cheese coupons printed without the bar code for me - did that happen to anyone else?  Other coupons printed fine, so I don't think that the issue is that I'm out of printer ink. (ETA: Melissa reminded me that the Sargento coupons are Publix store coupons, and have an LU# on them instead of a barcode.  Duh.  Thanks, Melissa!)

I'm planning to go back before the end of the sale, to use the $1.50/2 Bertolli pasta sauce coupon that is reported to be in the 2/20 Smartsource insert, as well as stocking up on more of the 42¢ Progresso beans, 10¢ Buitoni fettuccine, and 19¢ Ronzoni pasta!

@Melissa - Oh, duh.... Thank you so much for pointing that out to me! Why didn't I notice that? I fished the coupons out of the recycling - thank goodness I didn't empty it yesterday! Now I'm definitely going back before the sale is over!

(And see, there is always something to learn - or to forget - about couponing!)

That's an amazing trip for $10! You put my tiny little order yesterday to shame. By the way, you're so lucky to live in FL (I'm assuming you do, since you mentioned living in the land of no double coupons) and still receive the SS newspaper inserts. I live in central Florida and only receive P&G and RP inserts each week. I've been missing out on too many sweet deals (like the deals you scored) because of the lack of SS being delivered to my area. :(

Off to hop over to the blogs posts you mentioned...
