P&G Everyday Solutions

Everyday Solutions
I love the week each month when the Procter & Gamble insert comes in the newspaper.  It's chock full of coupons for personal care items and household goods, including elusive ones like toilet paper (but why do I always get only 25¢ off of Charmin?) as well as higher-value ones for toothpaste and mouthwash, among other products.  And, best of all, all the coupons expire on the same day, so I can throw all my copies of the insert away the day after and know I haven't thrown away any coupons that I might use.

So I was excited to hear about P&G Everyday Solutions. By sigining up, you can get even more coupons for P&G products.  As I write this, some of the coupons available are for Bounty paper towels and napkins and for Tide.

And... you can get free samples there, as well!  Some samples currently available are for Pantene, Head & Shoulders, and Pampers.

And, there are lots of interesting articles and tips.  It is definitely worth checking it out!  Click here to sign up.

atTENding to Our Finances in 2010 May update

Time once again to update our financial goals, which I posted at the beginning of the year.

Last month, we were able to meet two of our goals, thanks to a lot of saving and a financial windfall.  Now, we have our third and biggest goal to complete, paying off our home equity line of credit.

This month, we paid off 4% of the debt!

It was so nice to be able to throw a big chunk of money at the debt.  For the past year or more, we've paid only the interest accrued, because we were saving for other goals and expecting a job layoff.  And before that, we were taking our own sweet time in paying it off, maybe throwing an extra $100 or $200 toward the principal.  This time we were able to pay a lot more - though not as much as we hope to in the future.  This month also had some other things to pay for - travel for an out-of-town wedding and summer activities for the kids.

As nice as it was to pay off 4%, I figured that if I keep paying that much each month, it will take over 2 years to pay the entire amount.  I want to pay it off much, much sooner!  So I'll be looking into ways to boost our income over the summer, as well as tightening up our belts even more.

How are you doing on your 2010 financial goals? Post them (or a link to your blog) in the comments.

Wednesday Weekly Shopping: The missing receipts

I invite you to link up to your best grocery deals below!

I was so proud of myself last week for coming almost $20 under my usual budget of 80 per week...

...until I found a few receipts I hadn't recorded.  Oops.

Still, I would've stayed under my budget last week, but just barely.  And I decided to include those expenses this week, and still try to stay under this week's budget.

I did pretty well - I was only 17 cents over budget!  Actually, it should be a few cents more - I see I forgot to log the tax on one of my shopping trips.

I was really happy to receive a free box of goodies from Kraft - the deal from Facebook - and received free coupons for Philadelphia Minis and Kraft Olive Oil mayonnaise.  I wouldn't have tried the mayonnaise without the coupon, and I would've waited for a good sale for cream cheese.  Still, it's fun to get free stuff!

And, I had a $3 off coupon on your next order from Winn-Dixie.  Love, love, love getting free cheese and orange juice!

I also did the Target deal where you buy three Kellogg's cereals and get a free gallon of milk. I bought six of the lowest-priced boxes, used 3 $1/2 coupons, and got two gallons of milk free.

Altogether, I spent $80.17 (plus whatever tax I missed) for $132.61 worth of groceries, or a 40% savings.  Not bad considering I did very little couponing, and bought a lot of vegetables and dairy this week.

Check out all my shopping here.

Check out the following to see how others shopped this week!

How did your shopping go this week? What bargains did you get? Please leave a link to your blog post about your weekly shopping. Please link up directly to your post, not to the blog itself. I'd appreciate it if you put a link to Wednesday Weekly Shopping in your post as well. If you don't have a blog, please leave a comment!
